Art in Turin Middle Ages to 19th Century:discover the artworks of Palazzo Madama
Founded in 1860, the Civic Museum of Ancient Art is hosted in one of the most ancient and beautiful buildings located in the heart of Turin, rich in architectural remains from the Roman times to the Baroque of Filippo Juvarra.
The museum conserves over 70,000 artworks from the Early Middle Ages to the Nineteenth century: paintings, sculptures, illuminated manuscripts, majolica and porcelains, gold and silver objects, pieces of furniture and fabrics.
In the "Palazzo Madama Turin" app there are five tours to explore the museum's collections from different points of view.
The "Museum in 30 Minutes" tour helps those in a hurry to discover the masterpieces hosted at Palazzo Madama. "The museum in colors" is a journey through the artworks, from black and white to cobalt blue, from carmine red from to the splendour of gold. For those who want to surrender to mooods, the tour "In the mood for" is the ideal solution, while "#GoPink" allows you to explore the museum through its female protagonists.
